Hello friends! I’m back today with another roundup of my travel makeup from my most recent vacation to visit my parents.
With it being summer, my makeup bag this time around contained plenty of warm neutrals and bronzey tones. There were also essentials that I use every day, and some products that I had just received and wanted to try out.
BASE
The Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is an absolute essential as an SPF for the summer because it feels so weightless. For primers, I am trying out a sample of the Benefit Porefessional Primer again. I’ve tried samples before, but wanted to see how it would hold up in the summer. After not using this for several years, I am shocked by how pore blurring it really is – my skin looks absolutely poreless with this one! I also remembered this feeling quite heavy, but it felt okay this time around. I’m actually coming around to it now that I see how my makeup looks flawless with it. As always, I brought the Becca Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector to use over my makeup as a mattifier.
I brought a couple foundations with me – the Revlon Photoready Foundation Stick, which I rarely talk about, but find an excellent light weight stick foundation that’s easy to apply on the go. I had mixed feelings for the longest time, but it’s proven to be really long lasting and natural looking in the heat. I also brought a sample of the Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation to try, and I’ve been LOVING it. I definitely need to get a full-size, but I’m trying to hold off on buying it for now as I’ve been trying quite a few new foundations.
Not pictured is the Visee CC Concealer. I talked about it in my Japan haul, and was pretty lukewarm about it, but I think it was just too dark for me at the time. Now that I have a tan, it has been really good at covering my dark circles and blemishes. It blends out flawlessly and is heavier coverage than I expected for how lightweight it feels. I also repurchased the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Corrector after my original one went bad. My favorite powder to set all my makeup at the moment is the Make Up For Ever HD Powder. It really blurs my makeup and helps keep me matte a little longer.
CHEEKS
Hidden in the depths of my makeup bag is the Wet N Wild MegaGlo Contour Stick, which I use more as a cream bronzer. This was also in my first travel makeup bag post. For cream blushes, I brought two favorites: Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in Papaya/Topaz and Josie Maran Watercolor Cheek Gelee. They are both discontinued, but are two of my favorite cream blush formulas and I’ve hit pan on both of them.
For powder products, the Becca Afterglow Palette is perfect for summer. It contains all permanent products: the shimmering skin perfectors in Moonstone, Rose Gold, and Topaz; as well as Wild Honey and Flowerchild blush. The brush pictured is the Real Techniques Instapop Cheek Brush, that I bought just before my trip. I haven’t loved it for blush, but it works great as a highlighter brush to really buff it into the skin. I also brought the MAC blush in Dollymix, a classic bright pink blush that looks amazing with a tan. Of course, my HG theBalm Bahama Mama bronzer also came along for this trip. It’s the perfect bronzer for me and I’m almost completely finished with it!
EYES
I can’t wear any eye makeup without the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Eyeshadow Primer, so it’s not pictured, but definitely in the mix. But For the actual eye makeup itself, I could not stop wearing a combination of Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color in Golden Peach, Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette and MAC Woodwinked. When I have tan skin, the warm tones in the Naked Heat look so much better on me, and MAC Woodwinked turns into a gorgeous my lids but better shade. Also pictured in the quad are Anastasia Beverly Hills Rose, MAC Blanc Type, and Makeup Geek Backlight single eyeshadows.
I brought my usual black liners – It Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Eyeliner and Physician’s Formula Eye Booster Liquid Liner, but actually didn’t really wear black liner for most of my trip. I opted to use Urban Decay Lucky Eyeliner – which I usually only use on my lower lashline – to lightly define the outer corners of my upper lashline, and then used a dark brown eyeshadow to lightly line. The looks felt much lighter and more summery this way, and I’ve barely worn black eyeliner since.
The mascaras I used for this trip is my favorite combination right now, and I’m sadly running out of both of them. The Heroine Make Long and Curl Super Waterproof and Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara make a super dramatic combination that actually makes my puny lashes look dramatic.
LIPS
As always, I have an EOS lip balm, that I use every day as a lip primer. I always bring way too many lip products. I panic pack them into my bag, and that’s already on top of the lip products that seem to multiply in my everyday bag. Anyone else do the same?
The lip products I actually used regularly were the YSL Glossy Stain in #7, Revlon Moondrops Lipstick in Blase Apricot, and Kanebo Kate Lip Oil in RD-1. Some less used products were: Clinique Chubby Stick in Plushest Punch (always in my purse though), Clinique Lipstick in All Heart, Smashbox Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat, P2 Sheer Glam Lipstick in Mona Lisa Smile, and Chanel Coco Rouge Cheek and Lip Blush in Orange Explosif. Products that I rarely used or didn’t use at all on my trip were: MAC Tendertalk Lipbalm, Lipstick Queen lipstick in Frog Prince, Revlon Balm Stain in Rendezvous (always in my makeup bag too), MAC lipstick in Ever Hip (I found out I’m too tan for it now), Marc Jacobs Enamored Lip Gloss (it was in my purse already), and the NYX Luster Gloss.
Overall, I’m really happy with what I brought, and I used most of the products with the exception of the lip products. I’m glad I brought the Naked Heat Palette because I finally feel like I got a lot of uses and different looks out of it, and have actually been reaching for it nearly every day still.
Do you see any products that you love? What are some products that you always bring with you when you travel?
As always, thanks for reading!

I love the Naked Heat palette for warm weather. I also see that you brought a lot of reds and pinks for your lip products – I love these colours for an airy but glam feel on vacation. I don’t usually like to wear a lot of makeup while on vacation. A red lip is sometimes all you need!

I completely agree! I didn’t even realize I only brought reds and pinks, haha. I also love coral and orange lips, but thought it was a bit much with orange toned neutrals on my eyes, too!
