Today I’m not actually talking about a new product, but it’s a product that I absolutely love and have loved since their release.

Bite Beauty is one of those stellar makeup brands that doesn’t have a huge line, choosing to focus on lip products by doing them well. I’m sure you all know by now the whole idea behind the brand. They focus on having food grade ingredients with the idea that any product that’s on our lips will probably be ingested in some way. On top of having nourishing and natural ingredients, their lip products are famous for being high performing, pigmented, and long lasting.

However, their multisticks are some of my favorite products in the line (apart from their liquid lipsticks, which appear to be getting discontinued), and they definitely deserve their own post.

The multisticks are exactly what they sound like – multi-use products for lips, face, and eyes. 

They retail for $24 for 4.75g of product, and are available on the Bite Beauty website, or on Sephora.

I already love Bite’s standard gray packaging, and these also come housed in a sleek tube with a magnetized closing. The one downside I’ve noticed is sometimes one of the magnets in the tube will stick to the magnet to close the lipstick, but detach from the upper part of the cap. It’s a slightly annoyance that leads to the tubes coming apart in my bag and makes it slightly more delicate to transport. If that little packaging flaw were fixed, it would be perfect. 

As for the formula, these have a cream-powder consistency. They feel just a little bit dry, especially if I’m trying to apply these directly on the cheek, but it helps with the multi-use aspect of them. The powderiness helps with the longevity of these products, and prevents it from slipping and sliding around, especially if you’re trying to use these as an eyeshadow for a monochromatic look. Because of that, they do feel a teensy bit dry on the lips, but in the way that a matte lipstick would feel slightly dry. They don’t dry out excessively on me during the day, so I don’t really have an issue with it. If I’m using these as eyeshadow, I like to apply it on my finger first, and then blend onto my eyes with my fingers. It helps make the product slightly more emollient before they set down. 

I should also note that these products are super pigmented. They can be blended out to look like a stain, or have a very sheer effect, but they do apply pretty pigmented. 

As far as how well these wear and function as multi-use products, I think they generally work well, although there are obvious trade offs. Most of the shades are pink to red to burgundy tones that are more suited for blush or lipstick, although there are a few neutral and brown tones that could work as an eyeshadow as well. I like them best as lip products because they apply really nicely and evenly on the lips, and actually last on my lips for a good 3-4 hours before fading. As cheek products, they do work and blend on my oily skin, but because it is a bit drier, it doesn’t glide on the skin like most cream blushes would. I could see this skipping or being hard to blend for someone with drier skin. And finally, as eyeshadows they wear well for a cream eyeshadow, although because of the shade range, I am much less likely to apply them on my eyes unless I’m going for a monochromatic look. 

I currently have 6 shades:

• Almond – a deep reddish brown shade
• Cashew – a taupe with a slight mauve tone
• Mauvember 2017 – a bright violet-fuchsia shade (limited edition)
• Mochi – a bluish red shade
• Papaya – a salmon coral shade
• Praline – a pinkish

Almond is my favorite shade as a lipstick and blush, though I also occasionally wear this on my eyes. It was the first shade I owned, and is probably still my most used shade.

Overall, I love how functional and multi-use they are. I love keeping them with me when I travel (and when the packaging works), and though I wish there were a few more neutral shades, I do love the wide shade range that is available. If you have oily skin, these would work great as a cream blush or cream eyeshadow base, and I think they would work for most people as a lip product, unless you have very very dry lips.
