Fashionably late as always, I have another round of empties to show. Last month, I didn’t have a whole lot, but I certainly made up for it this month!
SKINCARE
I have a lot of favorites that I went through this month.
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes are my favorite makeup remover wipes. I don’t use these a whole ton, but on light makeup days, these wipes are my go to. They take off most of my waterproof eyeliner and mascara without harsh rubbing, which is better than most makeup wipes I’ve used.
Already repurchased.
Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm used to be a favorite that I’ve gone through several large tubs of, but I found other products that rinse of more easily. I still think this is a good travel option because it’s not as messy as trying to bring a liquid, though.
Might repurchase for travel.
Biore UV Aqua Rich Sunscreen SPF 50 is a go-to sunscreen for me in the summer. It sinks in so quickly, feels like nothing on my skin, and doesn’t make me more oily. I stock up on this when I go to Asia. I don’t have any trips there planned for the next year or so, so I’ll probably pick up a new tube next summer from Amazon.
Will repurchase.
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Serum and C-Firma are both HG products for the summer. I find that the two products paired together are perfect for giving me a brightening effect while actually mattifying my skin. I don’t need something so mattifying in the winter, but I will definitely repurchase for the summer.
Will repurchase.
Rituals Ritual of Ayurveda Hand Balm was a GWP from ULTA, and this smelled and felt divine. I love the scent of it, and it was super moisturizing without feeling too heavy. I have several hand creams, but I definitely want to repurchase.
Would repurchase.
Peach Slices Brighten Yuzu and Lotus Sheet Mask – again, I don’t always feel a huge difference when using sheet masks, but this felt pleasant. They all kind of work the same on me – they are moisturizing, make my skin feel soothed, and are a nice treat, but nothing felt super special about this one.
Might repurchase.
Patchology FlashPatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels are another HG for me. I use these all the time for a quick pick-me-up for my eyes that works in 5 minutes. I already have another pack that I’m using.
Already repurchased.
MAKEUP
I’m pretty proud of the makeup products I’ve actually used up this month!
Cotz Face Natural Tinted SPF 40 Sunscreen is a great tinted physical sunscreen for me. It feels slightly greasy going on, which I notice especially in humid weather, but for the light tint and for being all physical, I still love using this for a quick makeup application on light makeup days.
Might repurchase.
Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer is another HG product. I always try to get mini samples and travel sizes. This feels so light and really makes a difference in how smooth my makeup looks, as well as how it lasts at the end of the day. I’m testing other primers now that I do like, but I will definitely repurchase this once I’ve finished a couple other ones.
Will repurchase.
Benefit Porefessional Primer – this is such a cult favorite, and I always have mixed feelings on this. This does nothing for oil control in the summer, but it really does smooth my pores and make my foundation look so much smoother – even more than the Hourglass primer. However, sometimes I find the texture to feel just a bit heavier than I want it to. I’ve used a couple mini samples like this and always have the same mixed reactions. I’m still undecided if I would purchase a full size.
Might repurchase.
Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix Foundation Stick was an unexpected love for me. I really wasn’t expecting much from this, but it ended up being one of my favorite foundations. It’s definitely a very light coverage stick foundation, but it provided just enough coverage to even more skin out and give a more even finish. It also lasted surprisingly well throughout the day. It’s getting hard to find, which makes me think it’s being discontinued, but I would repurchase this once I finish a few more of the dozen foundations I have….
Would repurchase.
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Berry Bliss – I love the crap out of these blushes, and they were sadly discontinued. They are exactly what they’re called – light gelee that felt like water on the skin, while turning into a nice stain that lasted ALL DAY. I still have a couple hanging on that I bought when I found out they were discontinued, and I will cherish them.
Can’t repurchase…but I so would if I could.
Tarte Tarteist Lip Liner is a mini from either a GWP or a gift set. This was not a great liner – it was dry, heavy, and the packaging drove me nuts because it kept breaking. It did last on the lips pretty well, but it just felt heavier than other lip liners I’ve used. Because it kept snapping, it didn’t take me long to finish this. There are much better lip liners out there.
Would not repurchase.
Wet N Wild Mega Last Lipstick in 912C is a perfect MLBB shade. I kept this at my desk at work and I always loved reapplying it. It’s opaque, not drying for a matte, and lasted on my lips for a couple hours. The only downside is the terrible packaging – the lid comes off pretty easily, so this is not a purse friendly lipstick. However, for such a great formula and at such a great price point (~$3 USD), this is a good lipstick to pick up in a pinch.
Would repurchase.
Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain in #7 is one of my all time favorite lip products. I almost finished this entire thing, but it went bad on me before I could actually finish the entire thing. The formula started drying up and getting chunky, so it was time to get rid of it. I felt like I definitely got my money’s worth out of this though. This is still one of my favorite lip formulas for being exactly as described – a glossy stain that lasts for hours.
Will repurchase.
Stila Lip Glaze in Seashell – does anyone still remember these? I remember when these were all the rage…and I still have a couple that I’m working through. They are a sticky lip gloss for sure, but they are also moisturizing and super long lasting for me. However, since each tube only has 1.5 mL of product, it doesn’t take me too long to finish a tube.
Would repurchase if I could.
MISCELLANEOUS
Clairol Hair Food Moisture Conditioner was a product sent to me by Influenster. It was an ok conditioner, but I didn’t love it. My SO used most of it.
Would not repurchase.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is such a hyped product in the beauty community…but I just didn’t love it. It felt really luxurious and rich, sure, but the glitter DROVE. ME. INSANE. I felt like a disco ball after using this, and was so self conscious of it. The smell also was nice for awhile, but by the end of this tub, I was starting to get sick of it. Sorry friends, this one was not for me.
Would not repurchase.
Stella McCartney POP perfume was a fine scent. It was kind of fruity and sweet, but I enjoyed it while I had it. I wouldn’t buy a bottle of it though as it’s not really my style.
Would not repurchase.
Seche Vite Crystal Clear Base Coat is my favorite base coat. I always have a backup of this!
Already repurchased.
Revlon Nail Polish in Tropical Temptations – I don’t know about you, but nail polishes always get super dried out past the point of revival before I actually use them up. To be fair, I used about 85% of this before it went past the point of no return. I love this orange-coral shade for both my hands and toes, and I would consider repurchasing this, but I’m currently not really interested in adding any more nail polishes to my collection.
Might repurchase.
Dang, what a selection of empties! Did you guys spot anything in here that you love, or don’t love? What did you all finish in October?
As always, thanks for reading!
I too really enjoy using c firma! I actually really love the peach slices sheet masks; I feel like for a sheet mask they perform how they should by giving hydration!

Same thoughts on the Benefit porefessional, I have oily skin and if this had better oil control, it’d be HG primer. 😂
